Diane Groomes, not a murderer

 Assistant Police Chief Diane Groomes, has served on the Washington, DC police department for twenty years doing that time she has earned a reputation as a hard working community police person who is respected by many.  This week it is alleged that she gave answers to a time consuming test to top Commanders on homeland security and other intelligence issues.                                          
             

 Some of Washington’s city council members and residents have showed support with Ms. Groomes, saying she has done her job well in the pass, some have hinted that this was just a lapse in judgement and little or no action should be taken against her.  Washington, DC, Council members Mendelson and Jack Evans said their office have been flooded with calls of support,, when this writer view some comments on line there were a split of comments for and against her, while this site does not sway far from cases of unsolved murder, we think when something reaches high into our police department trust it could trickle down to other areas of mistrust and or abuse that seems to be growing as more people offer excuses for those we look upon to do a good job with the highest most efforts as they are paid to do, I’m not saying Assistant Police Chief Diane Groomes has not done that, I’m sure she has done much more good to help the people of this city, it has been reported that  she has said she is sorry for any wrong doing she has done, that is a good start because so many people all claim to be innocent when there is hardly any bit of evidence to support them in some cases, but they go to their death bed holding on to falsehood .

I don’t think it does much good for other high officials to call for or show too much support in cases of another official, because it seems to some people as a call for I’ll , scratch your back you scratch my back in time of troubles. I,m glad Chief Lanier has not to my knowledge gotten in to far and will, I hope let this case go its course as it should if it were you or any other person without ties to high officials, that is the only way to keep public trust.

In 2009 Joseph Persichini Jr. resigned for similar acts from the FBI Washington Field office, this I hope may not be what is due  Ms. Groomes, but if true, that she has done the act that is reported to have done, some serious action need to be taken without having to rid her completely of all of her duties.  In this case it should be those who reported her, are the ones who should be getting the support and appreciation of the community they serve.
