The Murder of Christopher Hall

On March 14, 2007, 37 year old Christopher Patrick Hall left home sometime in the mid-morning. Phone records show that he talked with various friends and business accquaintances during the morning and up until early afternoon. None of Chris family or friends ever heard fromChris after early afternoon on March 14, 2007. This was highly unusual since Chris always called his friends and family nemerous times throughout the day. That was just the kind of person that he was. He would just called to say a quick hello, make sure everything was okay, and say “Love you”. But, something went terribly wrong that afternoon on March 14, 2007. By the next morning, March 15th, both his family and friends were extremely worried about Chris. No one had heard from him, no one was able to reach him, and his voice mailbox had filled up. This had never happened before. I’m sure that everyone reading this will understand how it is when you know a family member or friend so well, that you just know when something is not right, that is exactly how it was that day.

By the afternoon of March 15th, Chris Aunt went to his residence to see if anything looked unusual there. Everything appeared fine, but it was also apparent that he had not been home the night before. What also concened his Aunt is the fact that his suitcases were at the house and also that his passport was there. That ended her hope that maybe he had just decided to go away for a few days. At about 3:00 PM on March 15th, Chris Aunt called the Prince Georges County Police to report him missing. After taking a missing persons report, which included his car license plate number (Black BMW, Maryland MEM411) the officer tried to reassure her that he would be okay.

After 8 days of not hearing anything, on March 22nd, 2007, at approximately 10:00 PM, Chris family, received a call that broke their hearts and changed their lives forever. Chris had been found in the trunk of his car, brutally murdered. His car had been parked, in a “No Parking Anytime Zone”, at 7981 Eastern Avenue, Washington, DC, near Silver Spring, Maryland. Interestingly, his car had received 6 parking tickets during that time period. the first ticket was received on the evening of March 14th, the last ticket was received on March 22nd, the same day that he was found. Ticket after ticket was placed on his car, with no one ever thinking to “run” the license plate number to see if the car had been reported stolen or the owner missing.

Just like the other 4,000 unsolved homicides in the District of Columbia, someone out there KNOWS what happened to Chris and someone must have seen something. His body was put into the trunk of his car (a black BMW) which was parked on a public street right in front of the Eastern Village, cohousing apartments. Even if Chris was murdered somewhere else and his car later driven to Eastern Avenue, someone had to have seen the car being parked and people leaving the area. Wher ever Chris was murdered, someone knows what happend and there was more then one person involved since people had to put his body in the car trunk.

Please, if you know anything about the murder of Christopher or any of the 4,000 unsolved DC cases, be a man or women, that people can really respect and call the police. Don’t hide behind closed doors. We never thought, in a million years, that this could happen to our family, but it did. If you are worried about coming forward to the police, send an email to them or just leave a voice message!, but also, keep in mind, that if you do know something, you’re much safer telling the police then you are to trust the killer(s) will not do the same to you, one day. Thanks and respect to all who have the courage and strength to step forward. All it takes are a few strong people to start stepping forward and show others what it really means to have courage and to earn respect.
